Several agreements in the field of green hydrogen were signed on September 19 in Marrakech, on the sidelines of the third edition of the World Power-to-X Summit (PTX23).
These agreements aim to promote innovation and boost training in the field of green hydrogen in support of sustainable development, and implement appropriate measures to ensure the success of Morocco’s energy transition.
The first agreement, signed between the Guelmim-Oued Noun Regional Council and the Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), aims to forge cooperation in research and several activities covering sustainable development.
The second agreement, signed between the Office for Vocational Training and Work Promotion (OFPPT), the GreenH2 Cluster, and the Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), seeks to jointly develop and implement vocational training programs for professionals in the green hydrogen value chain in Morocco and Africa.
Similarly, the third agreement, which was signed between Huawei, the Green Energy Park (GEP), and the Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), covers the development of research projects in the field of renewable energies and energy storage.
The fourth agreement, binding the Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN) and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), concerns collaboration on capacity building, research projects, and partnerships in the fields of climate change, renewable energies, and energy efficiency.
As for the fifth agreement, it was signed between the GreenH2 Cluster and Eco-Stream Nederland B.V. and it aims to promote joint action to establish a win-win partnership to support the development of Morocco’s green hydrogen industry.
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the aegis of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, this edition is organized by the Institute for Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), the GreenH2 Cluster, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
The third edition of the World Power-to-X Summit brought together 1,000 participants, and 170 expert speakers, and held 35 sessions and five side events.
The World Power-to-X Summit is a leading platform for promoting regional and international dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of the industrial, logistical, and technological value chain of green hydrogen and its applications.
