Wikimedia Morocco is organizing, between April 25 and June 10, the “Wikipedia Morocco Editorial Contest,” in partnership with the Wikimedia Foundation and the Moroccan Reading Network.
This cultural initiative is organized by the Wikimedia User Group in Morocco, with the aim of expanding, developing, and producing more content about Morocco on Wikipedia.
The 2023 Wikipedia Morocco contest was opened on April 25, to all Arabic speakers who meet the following conditions and criteria:
1- The participant must have a Wikipedia account. Anonymous pseudonyms are not accepted
2- Each participant can only sign up with one account. Any fraud will result in direct exclusion from the contest
3- Participants must add the “User participating in the Wikipedia Morocco 2023 contest” template to their Wikipedia page
4- Participants can book up to 3 articles at a time in 24 hours by signing them and adding them to their list of booked articles
5- The name of the participant must be added next to the article they chose
6- The minimum acceptable article length is 4 thousand characters
7- Participants must sign up for the contest prior to booking articles
8- Five points will be given to each participant working on a previously listed article
9- The reservation of an item will be canceled if the contribution fails to begin within the first 24 hours following the booking date
The organizers announced that this competition will be divided into two categories, namely experienced participants and novice participants.
For the Experienced Participants Category, the rewards will be as follows:
- First prize: a voucher worth USD175 (MAD1766)
- Second prize: a voucher worth USD150 (MAD1514)
- Third prize: a voucher worth USD100 (MAD1009)
As for the Novice Participants Category, the rewards will be as follows:
- First prize: a voucher worth USD150 (MAD1514)
- Second prize: a voucher worth USD100 (MAD1009)
- Third prize: a voucher worth USD50 (MAD504)
