The Speaker of the House of Councilors, Enaam Mayara, held talks on May 8 in Rabat with the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo, focused on strengthening cooperation between the two parties.
According to a press release from the House of Councilors, Mayara and Houngbo stressed, during this meeting, the need to strengthen coordination and consultation in international forums.
On this occasion, the Moroccan Upper House Speaker also reviewed the Kingdom’s achievements, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly in the social field, reiterating his institution’s determination to contribute to efforts aimed at guaranteeing the success of the social state project.
For his part, Houngbo affirmed that his visit to Morocco, the first since his election in March 2022, allowed him to explore the Kingdom’s considerable development in various fields, commending, in this regard, the project relating to the generalization of social protection.
The official also hailed the efforts of Morocco’s House of Councilors in terms of legislation relating to employment and trade union freedoms.
