he Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) announced that the 3,000 m steeplechase world champion, Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali was named Africa’s best male athlete for the year 2022.
According to the CAA, the Moroccan Olympic champion, Diamond League winner, and best performer of the season (7:58:28) beat the Kenyans Eliud Kipchoge, holder of the Marathon World Record, and Emmanuel Korir, the 800m world champion.
