The Republic of Sierra Leone expressed its willingness to take part in the initiatives led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the benefit of West Africa.
This position was expressed in a joint communiqué published following talks between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Sierra Leonean counterpart, Timothy Musa Kabba, on April 23 in Rabat.
On this occasion, Kabba commended the leadership and far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI aimed at consolidating south-south cooperation to promote regional initiatives that advance stability and socioeconomic development for the benefit of all Africans.
The Sierra Leonean official also hailed the Kingdom’s contribution to the promotion of peace and sustainable development in the sub-region since the creation of the Mano River Union (MRU).
On a similar note, Kabba commended the Royal Atlantic Initiative which aims to make the African Atlantic space a geostrategic framework for intra-African cooperation.
During this meeting, the two parties also highlighted the role of the Morocco-Nigeria Gas Pipeline project which will contribute to the region’s economic integration and benefit all the nations concerned.
