The President of the National Assembly of Senegal, Amadou Mame Diop, reiterated, on December 20 in Dakar, his country’s firm and unwavering support for the Moroccanity of the Sahara.
In an intervention following his talks with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, the Senegalese official stated that the two countries enjoy a convergence of views on international issues of common interest.
In a similar context, Diop praised the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in strengthening bilateral relations, as evidenced by the 8 visits official visits made by the Sovereign to Senegal, and His historic speech in Dakar in 2016 on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the Green March.
For his part, Talbi El Alami noted that this is the first visit of a lower house speaker to Senegal’s National Assembly, praising the warm welcome reserved to the Moroccan parliamentary delegation by the Senegalese deputies.
In a similar context, the Moroccan official highlighted the historical and brotherly relations uniting the two peoples, welcoming the constant position of Senegal in support of the Moroccanity of the Sahara.
The Moroccan parliamentary delegation includes the Deputy of the Authenticity and Modernity parliamentary group, MM. Ahmed Touizi, Deputy of the Socialist Union parliamentary group, Abderrahim Chahid, Deputy of the Constitutional Union parliamentary group, Chaoui Belassel, and Rachid Hamouni, Deputy of the Progress and Socialism parliamentary group.
These talks took place in the presence of HM the King’s ambassador to Senegal, Hassan Naciri, and were crowned by the signing of a parliamentary cooperation protocol between the Moroccan House of Representatives and the National Assembly of Senegal.
