The works of the second ministerial meeting between Arab and Pacific Island countries kicked off, on June 12, in Riyadh, with Morocco’s participation.
Morocco is partaking in this ministerial meeting with a delegation led by the Secretary General of the Sustainable Development Sector at the Ministry of Energy Transition, and Sustainable Development, Farah Bouqartacha, and includes Morocco’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mustapha Mansouri, and Director of Asian Affairs and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Ambassador Abdelkader El Ansari.
The opening ceremony of the ministerial meeting, which was held in private, was co-chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL), Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The ministerial meeting between Arab and Pacific Island countries aims to expand cooperation between the two sides, strengthen communication and dialogue, and intensify consultation and coordination on international and regional issues of common interest.
The meeting also seeks to strengthen cooperation in the political, economic, social, and cultural fields to promote peace and security and overcome the challenges of new international developments.
The first ministerial meeting between Arab and Pacific Island countries was held in 2010 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
