The Iklyle Rabat Cultural Center of Mohammed VI Foundation for the Promotion of Social Work in Education and Training will celebrate, on January 24, in partnership with the African Women’s Forum, the World Day for African and Afrodescendant Culture.
According to a joint press release from the organizers, the celebration of this day, adopted by UNESCO, provides for the organization of a range of conferences and artistic events in order to highlight African cultural wealth and address the increasing challenges it faces.
“Indeed, one of the strengths of the African continent is its cultural diversity,” added the same source, noting that Morocco, a “crossroads of civilizations”, is a very good example of this wealth and ancestral links with other African countries.
In this context, the press release referred to the Royal Speech delivered before the 28th summit of the African Union (AU) in which HM King Mohammed VI shed light on the richness of African culture.
This day will also be an opportunity to highlight the diversity of Moroccan culture as enshrined in the Constitution and its links with other African cultures on the continent, with the aim of promoting African unity.
