Morocco’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Mohamed Arrouchi, reiterated, Wednesday in Addis Ababa, Morocco’s firm commitment to the principle of active solidarity in accompanying African countries in their political transition towards constitutional order.
Arrouchi, who intervened during a meeting between the African Union’s (AU) Peace and Security Council (AU) and four African countries in political transition, namely Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, and Sudan, stressed the importance of supporting brotherly African countries in times of crisis out of solidarity and benevolence.
The Moroccan diplomat added that for a transitional process to succeed, security, socio-economic and humanitarian support should be provided to the concerned African countries so that they can regain their memberships within the African Union (AU) as soon as possible.
In a similar context, the Moroccan ambassador noted the role of the multidimensional approach relating to the Peace, Security, and Development nexus in supporting African countries in their transitions, as advocated in the Tangier Declaration.
