Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated, on January 9 in Madrid, that relations between Morocco and Spain have reached “a high level of solidity and trust,” noting that these links will “always be a priority” for Spain.
Intervening at the opening of the 8th Conference of Spanish Ambassadors accredited abroad, Sánchez stressed the need to further consolidate these relations, recalling, in this regard, the Morocco-Spain High-Level Meeting held in Rabat last year, which made it possible to give a new impetus to bilateral relations with “the largest ministerial participation and the highest number of agreements signed in the history of relations between the two countries.”
On a different note, the Spanish PM emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue between countries on both shores of the Mediterranean to contribute to the fight against irregular migration and raise awareness of the risks posed by this scourge.
Stability and security in the Sahel region must remain a priority for Spain and Europe, affirmed Sánchez.
