The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has forged a partnership with airline EasyJet, to provide approximately 95,000 seats to Morocco for the 2023-2024 winter season.
The Office stated in a press release that in line with the launch of the ONMT’s “Light in Action” action plan, which particularly seeks to multiply actions to strengthen air services for Morocco, this record agreement features the launch of several direct routes linking different European cities to three main Moroccan destinations, namely Rabat, Marrakech, and Agadir.
ONMT’s Managing Director, Adel El Fakir, affirmed that “this record-breaking agreement with one of Europe’s leading airlines reinforces our strategy of promoting the Kingdom as a tourist destination worldwide,” noting that other agreements are also underway with other airlines.
The press release announced that Rabat will be linked to five European cities, which are Paris, with four weekly flights (15,345 seats), Geneva with two weekly flights (8,593 seats); Lyon with three flights (10,679 seats); and two weekly flights for Nantes and Nice with 7,550 seats each.
For its part, Marrakech will be linked to Bristol with two weekly flights, accounting for 8,712 seats, and Porto with three weekly flights, totaling 12,078 seats.
Similarly, Agadir will benefit from a new Agadir-Porto route, with two weekly flights and 7,920 seats, and the resumption of the Paris-Agadir route, with two weekly flights providing 7,326 seats.
Overall, the additional seats that will be added for the winter season alone, divided between Rabat (58,310), Marrakech (20,790), and Agadir (15,246), will account for a total of 94,346 seats.
EasyJet, Europe’s second-largest airline in terms of passengers onboard, is a long-standing partner of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT).
With approximately one million annual tickets to Morocco, Easyjet is today the 5th largest airline in terms of international capacity to the Kingdom.
Through this strategic agreement, EasyJet affirms its support to Morocco as a destination, while the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) strengthens its “Light in Action” plan.
