The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohammed Sadiki, held talks, Thursday in Rabat, with the Emirati Minister of Economy, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and investment in the agricultural field.
In a statement to the press following this meeting, Sadiki praised the solid ties binding Morocco and the UAE, emphasizing the importance of developing investment in the agricultural sector and the transfer of technology between the two countries, mainly to increase the production of agricultural sectors.
Sadiki also stressed the imperative of strengthening the synergy between the two countries’ private sectors for more effective bilateral cooperation that reflects the distinguished relations uniting Morocco and the UAE.
For his part, Al Marri emphasized that this meeting is an opportunity to promote investment and explore future investment prospects in agriculture, agricultural technologies, and food sovereignty.
Praising the strong and dynamic relations between Morocco and the UAE, the Emirati official recalled the holding of the first ministerial session of the Morocco-UAE Joint Economic Commission that aims to strengthen economic and business partnerships between the two countries and develop cooperation mechanisms.
The first ministerial session of the Morocco-UAE Joint Economic Commission, also attended by senior officials from both the Moroccan and Emirati ministries and actors from public and private institutions, was held following a bilateral meeting between the Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, and her Emirati counterpart, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, which was crowned by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on economic and technical cooperation.
