The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the National Museums Foundation (FNM), Mehdi Qotbi, and the director of the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM), Mohamed El Ferrane, recently signed a partnership agreement for the creation of a research and documentation sports center, which will be annexed to the Moroccan Football Museum located at Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora.
The National Library of the Kingdom (BNRM) stated that this convention is part of the efforts to preserve sports history through books and documents, all media (paper, digital, audiovisual), with the aim of contributing to the influence of national football at the regional, continental and international levels, in accordance with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
For its part, the National Museums Foundation (FNM) noted on its website that this convention aims to “document and archive the rich history of Moroccan football in order to honor and preserve it for future generations.”
It should be noted that in March 2022, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the National Museums Foundation concluded a partnership agreement for the creation and management of the Moroccan Football Museum at Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora.
The new center aims to showcase the history of national football which dates back to 1906, through the exhibition of photographs and football items. This initiative will be an opportunity for all generations, especially the youth, to learn about the achievements of Moroccan footballers.
