Preparations for the COP28, scheduled for the end of 2023 in Dubai, were at the center of talks, Monday in Rabat, between the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, and the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE’s Special Envoy for Climate Change.
In a statement to the press after this meeting, Benali indicated that the talks focused on “the United Arab Emirates’ presidency of the COP28 which will take place in November 2023”, adding that this meeting was an opportunity to explore ways to make this event a “success for both countries”.
Benali also expressed the determination of the two countries to work on environmental issues relating to energy transition, climate change, and sustainable development within the framework of COP 28.
In a similar context, the Minister underlined that Morocco and the United Arab Emirates will work together to make this annual meeting a “historic” moment that will shed light on several climate issues.
It is noted that the visit of the Emirati minister to Morocco is part of the distinguished partnership and cooperation relations linking the two brotherly countries.
