Said Afif, a member of the Covid-19 Vaccination Committee, confirmed that 50% of the total number of students in all schools were vaccinated in three weeks, particularly, a total of 2 517 503 pupils received the vaccine, aged between 12 and 17 years.
This participation, has been marked by a sense of deep commitment and perseverance by both the students and their parents for the sake of putting the fight against the wide spread of the virus and achieving what is referred to as ‘’ Collective Immunity’’. Therefore, it is necessary that a large percentage of the population be vaccinated to be protected against Covid-19 and its variants.
‘’55% of students received the Pfizer vaccine, compared to 45% who received Sinopharm, while 29,000 students received the second dose of vaccines ‘’, Afif said in a statement.
In addition, the member of the Vaccination Committee pointed out that the total number of those who received the first dose of the vaccine exceeded 21 411,000 as a percentage of 71% of the target group, while more than 17 764,000 group received the second dose.
