Moroccan tennis player Reda Bennani qualified, Sunday, for the final round of the 37th edition of the Grand Prix Hassan II of tennis, held in Marrakech between April 2 and 9.
Bennani qualified for the next round of this sporting event, which is marked by the participation of several international players from 21 countries, 20 of which are in the Top 100 of the ATP World Ranking, following his victory over the Czech Vit Kopriva (7-6, 7-5).
In a similar context, Moroccan tennis player Walid Ahouda was eliminated in the round qualifying for the final round following his defeat against Bulgarian Dimitar Kuzmanov (6-2, 6-1).
The 37th edition of the Grand Prix Hassan II of Tennis, an event of the ATP Tour 250, kicked off on Sunday at the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech (RTCMA), starting with the qualifying matches for the final round of this prestigious sporting event.
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this tournament is organized by the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation (FRMT) in coordination with the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech (RTCMA).
The first day of this competition included eight qualifying matches, which were marked by the participation of Ahouda and Bennani, while their compatriots Elliot Benchetrit, Adam Moundir, and Younes Lalami Laaroussi received a wild card to partake in the final round of this tournament.
It should be noted that this edition of the Grand Prix Hassan II of Tennis, the only tournament of its kind in Africa, will see the participation of world-class players, including Italian Lorenzo Musetti, ranked 21st in the world, British Daniel Evans (29), Belgian titleholder David Goffin (40), and French Benjamin Bonzi (45).
In the doubles competitions, Morocco will be represented by Elliot Benchetrit, Adam Moundir, Younes Lalami Laaroussi, and Hamza El Amine.
