Guinea reiterated, on July 10 in Dakhla, its “firm and constant” support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and the Kingdom’s Autonomy Plan as the “only credible and realistic solution” for the Moroccan Sahara.
This position was expressed in the joint press release issued following the 7th session of the Morocco-Guinea Joint Cooperation Commission, which was co-chaired by the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Guinean counterpart, Morissanda Kouyaté.
On this occasion, Kouyaté praised the efforts of the United Nations (UN) as the exclusive and consensual framework for achieving a realistic, practical, and lasting solution for the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
The Guinean minister also emphasized that the opening by the Republic of Guinea of a Consulate General in Dakhla in January 2020 is in line with its firm and long-standing position regarding this matter.
