The First President of the Court of Auditors, Zineb El Adaoui, held talks, Thursday in Rabat, with the Auditor General of the Republic of Mali, Samba Alhamdou Baby, and the Chief Prosecutor of the Accounts Chamber of the Malian Supreme Court, Mama Sininta, to discuss the expertise of the Moroccan Court of Auditors in the field of public finance supreme auditing.
According to a statement by the Moroccan Court of Auditors, the Malian delegation was briefed on the missions and the particularities of the Moroccan Court of Auditors, which include in particular exercising several jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional attributions, while ensuring the complementarity between these attributions.
El Adaoui emphasized, in this regard, the important role of integrated control which aims to build connections between the said attributions, notably the evaluation of accounts, management control, and budgetary and financial discipline, as well as the contribution of their results within the framework of the mandatory declaration of assets.
On this occasion, the members of the Malian delegation commended Morocco’s expertise, expressing their willingness to strengthen cooperation with the Moroccan Court of Auditors in order to consolidate their organizational and professional capacities.
In addition, Baby and Sininta presented an outline of the institutional framework of Mali as well as the roles and responsibilities of the two institutions they are part of.
The statement concluded that the two parties agreed to join their efforts to implement cooperation between Morocco and Mali for the supreme control of public finances, especially with regard to the development of the principles of good governance, transparency, and the connection between responsibility and accountability.
