According to a press release from the Royal Palace, King Mohammed VI appointed “Mr. Mohamed Benchaaboun, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to the French Republic”.
Before his appointment by the Sovereign as Ambassador to Paris, an eminently important post, given the strategic nature of relations between Morocco and France, Mohamed Benchaaboun was Minister of the Economy, Finance and Reform of Administration from 2018 to 2021.
A graduate of the National School of Telecommunications in Paris, he left a remarkable record in his post in the El Othmani government, despite a difficult economic context caused by the health crisis.
Benchaaboun was appointed by the King, in September 2003, director general of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT), a mission he carried out until February 2008, when he was appointed, still by the Sovereign , as Chief Executive Officer of the Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP).
Benchaaboun had previously held several positions of responsibility, including industrial management of the Alcatel Alsthom group in Morocco.
