The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, held talks on February 20 in Rabat, with Mauritania’s Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mohamed Aly Ould Sidi Mohamed, on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of infrastructure.
During this meeting, the two parties praised the brotherly relations uniting the two countries, stressing the importance of further consolidating these relations through the exchange of expertise, the expansion of the partnership between the Moroccan Public Lab for Trials and Studies (LPEE) and the Mauritanian National Lab of Public Works (LNTP), as well as the strengthening of cooperation in the field of technical training in road maintenance.
In this regard, Baraka indicated that these talks aim to boost economic cooperation between the two countries, adding that this meeting was also an opportunity to launch a road map for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of infrastructure and ports.
For his part, the Mauritanian minister affirmed that this visit, which he is carrying out at the head of a large delegation, is part of the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of expertise in various areas.
Mohamed Aly Ould Sidi Mohamed added that his discussions with Baraka also focused on examining ways to conduct a technical study on the Nouakchott-Nouadhibou road, lay the foundations of a solid partnership between the two countries in the field of public works, and collaborate in the construction of several engineering structures in Nouakchott to ease traffic in the Mauritanian capital.
