According to the National Institute of Geophysics (ING), a quake of magnitude 3.1 on the Richter scale was recorded on Thursday,14th in the province of Ouarzazate.
“The tremor, whose epicenter lies in the commune of Ouisselsate, took place at 8h19min44sec P.M. (GMT+1)” , the National Network of Monitoring and Seismic Alert reported.
Accordingly, at a depth of two kilometers, the quake took place at latitude of 30.645°N and a longitude of 6.978°W.
Above all, earthquakes remain among the most serious natural disasters as they could have a devastating impact on the region’s residents. Hence, safety measures should be taken into account if an earthquake occurs.
