The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held a meeting, on November 13 at the Parliament’s headquarters, with the Brazilian Ambassador to Morocco, Alexandre Guido Lopes Parola, on ways of strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
According to a press release from the House of Representatives, the two parties discussed the strong diplomatic relations linking Morocco and Brazil, which date back to 1884, bearing in mind that the Kingdom was the first African country to recognize Brazil’s independence in 1822.
During this meeting, the two parties examined Morocco and Brazil’s strategic roles, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations between the Moroccan House of Representatives and the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, the exchange of expertise, and coordination in various regional and international parliamentary forums.
The meeting was also an opportunity to focus on the role of legislative institutions in promoting international peace and security and building bridges for ongoing dialogue and communication.
