Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri, currently playing for FC Sevilla, was named LaLiga Santander Player of the Month for April.
FC Sevilla announced that the 25-year-old forward was the most outstanding player of the tournament, scoring three goals against Cadiz, Celta, and Villarreal, a phase during which his team remained unbeaten, with four wins and one draw.
This proclamation is the second of its kind for En-Nesyri, after the first one he received in January 2021, and the 7th time a Sevilla player receives this award since the awards were launched in September 2013.
The first FC Sevilla player to be named La Liga’s Player of the Month was Ivan Rakitic in January 2014, followed by Vitolo (March 2015), Steven Nzonzi (January 2017), Tomás Vaclík (November 2018), and En-Nesyri (January 2021). Fernando Reges was the last Sevillian to receive the award before En-Nesyri in April 2021.
The Moroccan striker was selected over his compatriot Selim Amalah of Real Valladolid, Marco Asensio of Real Madrid, Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid, Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao, Ronald Araujo of FC Barcelona, and Lee Kanj-in of Real Mallorca.
