The National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) celebrates, on May 18, the 18th anniversary of its launch by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him. This celebration, coinciding with the last year of implementation of Phase III, is an opportunity to review the objectives achieved under the theme “Assessment of Achievements and Gains of Phase III.”
In a statement issued on May 17, the Ministry of the Interior said that similar to previous years, all Moroccan regions will celebrate this anniversary to highlight the strong mobilization of the ecosystem of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), which has over 16.000 members who represent elected officials, the associative fabric, and public administration.
The event will also address the challenge of developing national human capital, enabling future generations to contribute efficiently to the Kingdom’s development.
The National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) is, in several aspects, a unique experience of social and human development, both at the national and international levels. The Ministry added that the ambitious goals and advantages of the National Initiative’s actions stem from its status as a long-term project that enjoys His Majesty the King’s High Solicitude, highlighting the positive results of the preliminary assessment of Phase III.
In a similar context, the Ministry stressed that between 2019 and 2022, over 25,500 projects were carried out with an overall budget exceeding MAD 10.5 billion.
The statement also underlined that over the past few years, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) considerably strengthened its territorial presence and positioning as a key social actor and an initiator of innovative and impactful projects.
An excellent illustration of the qualitative leap in the National Initiative’s achievements is the community health system, which now allows the expansion of primary care and maternity and child healthcare services.
In terms of education, as another key component of human capital, the Ministry noted that the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) has developed over the past four years, a network of preschool units in rural communities that provides free and quality services to prepare children to integrate schools and pursue their education.
The Ministry also emphasized that the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) actively fights against school dropouts in rural areas, recalling that the National Initiative implemented several strategies, including free tutoring for students experiencing trouble in class, along with a remedial approach based on the students level and basic learning, such as reading and arithmetic, and accommodation of students in Dar Talib (a) and school transportation.
Similarly, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) invested in improving the income and economic inclusion of youth, by the High Royal Directives on this matter.
In this regard, the Ministry praised the programs implemented in this sense, which are based on entrepreneurship, employability, and social economy, and the encouraging results recorded, noting that the socio-economic repercussions of the recent health crisis highlighted the importance of a wider deployment and generalization of such initiatives.
The Ministry underlined that the National Initiative for Human Development’s (INDH) efforts also focused on supporting people in precarious situations (abandoned children, disabled people without resources, women in precarious situations, and destitute elderly people…), with special attention paid to improving the care and socio-economic integration conditions.
Since its establishment, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) has been working on human development factors and levers of action that include the implementation of infrastructure and basic social services in rural areas.
The Ministry of Interior concluded that thanks to its positive results, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) is determined to further support relevant sectoral departments to achieve inclusive human development for Morocco, under the Enlightened Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him.
