Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Salim Mohammed Al-Malik, announced, Tuesday in Rabat, the creation of the poetry forum of the Islamic world, in celebration of World Poetry Day.
Al-Malik explained, in his speech during an event on this occasion, under the theme “Poems of Light”, that “this forum aims is to address issues related to poetry, support poets and make World Poetry Day an annual celebration of exceptional poems each time in one of the capitals of Islamic countries.”
During this event on the poems of the Prophet’s panegyric (Madih Nabawi), which was hosted by prominent poets from different countries of the Islamic world, Al-Malki stressed that “this evening will allow poets to learn more about this forum so that their works can shine in the world.”
This celebratory event was marked by the high-level international participation of fifteen poets who presented their works as well as prophetic hymns.
The event was attended by poets from different countries, notably Morocco, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Senegal, Mauritania, Sudan, Maldives, Lebanon, Bahrain, Yemen, Cameroon, and Tunisia.
