Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem chaired, on November 25 at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM) in Rabat, the inauguration of the diplomatic Circle charity Bazaar, placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Following the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening of the charity Bazaar, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem visited the different stands showcasing an abundance of handicrafts and local products representing several countries from around the world.
Upon her arrival at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM), HRH Princess Lalla Meryem reviewed a detachment by the Royal Guard that paid her tribute and was then greeted by the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Inclusion, and Family, Aawatif Hayar, and the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Mohamed Yacoubi.
Her Royal Highness was also greeted by the President of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra regional Council, Rachid El Abdi, the President of the Rabat communal Council, Asmaa Rhlalou, the President of the Rabat prefectural Council, Abdelaziz Derouiche, the President of the Agdal-Riad district Council, Abdellah ldrissi Yazidi, the President of the diplomatic Circle, spouse of the Peruvian Ambassador to Morocco, Alessandra Mancini de Chipoco, members of the Circle’s Executive Board, and the Director of the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM), Mohamed El Ferrane.
At the end of the ceremony, Her Royal Highness posed for a souvenir picture with members of the Diplomatic Circle.
For over 30 years, the Circle diplomatic charity Bazaar has been a regular feature of social life in the Kingdom’s capital Rabat.
The Circle Bazaar, as a great celebration of friendship and solidarity, brings together thousands of people who, in a pleasant atmosphere, contribute to the Circle’s achievement of its objectives for the benefit of the underprivileged.
The Bazaar is the flagship event of the diplomatic Circle, whose members are the spouses of heads of mission and representatives of international organizations, representing an active network of committed female diplomats united for a common goal: helping the most vulnerable, fostering the values of fraternity and generosity and respecting cultural and religious diversity.
This event is the most important level for raising the funds needed to support Moroccan NGOs operating in the fields of education, health, and rural women’s empowerment.
The Circle Bazaar 2023 brings together approximately 30 countries and international organizations, presenting a wide range of products from around the world, which are displayed and sold at the stands.
This year’s edition will feature the participation of Moroccan women’s cooperatives, in a gesture of solidarity from the diplomatic Circle to promote their contribution to development cooperation. In addition, a large part of this year’s funds will be allocated to support the populations affected by the earthquake that struck Al Haouz region in September.
