The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, represented, on May 29 in Abuja, His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the investiture ceremony of the new Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu.
The ceremonial investiture of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima took place on May 29 at “Eagle Square” in the capital Abuja and continued at the Presidential Palace.
The event took place in the presence of several heads of State and government representatives.
Morocco’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Moha Ou Ali Tagma, and members of the Kingdom’s diplomatic representation in Abuja also attended the investiture ceremony of Nigeria’s 16th president.
Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC/ruling party) was declared the winner of Nigeria’s presidential election on March 1.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu accumulated over 8.8 million votes, winning one of the most competitive elections in Nigeria.
“I am deeply honored that you elected me to serve our beloved country,” Tinubu told his supporters following his election, hailing a “victory for democracy.”
In his seventies, the former governor of Lagos, Nigeria’s economic capital, took over from incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
