His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, expressed Morocco’s gratitude to the countries that expressed solidarity with the Kingdom following the earthquake that struck on September 8.
A statement from the Royal Office, issued on September 9 following a working session on the earthquake that affected Al Haouz region, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, stressed that “the Sovereign expressed the Kingdom of Morocco’s sincerest gratitude to the brotherly and friendly countries that have expressed their solidarity with Moroccans in this difficult situation and their readiness to provide help and assistance in these difficult circumstances.”
It should be recalled that His Majesty the King has announced a three-day national mourning following this tragedy.
The decision was taken during the working session that took place on Saturday, September 9, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, which was devoted to the examination of the situation.
His Majesty the King also gave His High Instructions to the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs for the performance of Salat Al Ghaib (absentee funeral prayer) in all of the Kingdom’s mosques for the victims.
