The capital Rabat will host between October 24 and 26 the second conference of the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) Green Crossroads.
This second edition will bring together leaders, decision-makers, and experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with the transition to a green economy in Morocco.
PAGE IN MOROCCO: PIONEERING THE GREEN TRANSITION
The Kingdom, resolutely committed to an economic and social transformation focused on sustainable development, is playing a leading role in the Page initiative. Joining the partnership in 2019, Morocco began the implementation process under the leadership of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development (MTEDD) in April 2021, in close coordination with relevant stakeholders.
This initiative, supported by five United Nations (UN) agencies, testifies to Morocco’s commitment to a transition towards greener, more inclusive trajectories.
Page Green Crossroads 2023 aims to promote debate and accelerate the transition to a green economy in Morocco, present the Page mechanism, mobilize decision-makers, create platforms for debate, strengthen synergies, increase the visibility of actions undertaken and raise awareness of green economy issues within the media community.
This conference is the crossroads where different sectors and stakeholders meet to harmonize their actions and efforts towards the green transition of the Moroccan economy.
CONFERENCE PROGRAM
The conference will bring together high-level participants, including representatives from Page, the United Nations System (UN) in Morocco, the Moroccan government, and key sponsors. The event will kick off with a plenary session open to the public upon registration and broadcast live on social networks.
After the opening plenary, working sessions will begin, focusing on key thematic areas for the transition to a green economy. Each thematic session will be organized in partnership with one of the five UN agencies participating in Page and will guarantee constructive and dynamic discussions.
The conference will address several primary themes, such as the macroeconomic dimensions of the transition to a green economy, green and climate finance, inclusive green economy learning, sustainable waste management, industry decarbonization, green jobs, skills, and entrepreneurship for the transition to a green economy, access to renewable energy, energy production, as well as water, biodiversity, and natural resource management.
