Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held talks, Tuesday in Rabat, with the President of the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN), Amado Cerrud Acevedo, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a parliamentary delegation.
Following his meeting with Bourita, Acevedo stated to the press that his visit is an opportunity to strengthen the ties uniting Morocco and the Central American Parliament.
The President of the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) added that this visit aims to encourage the signing of more cooperation agreements between the two parties in several fields, further expressing the parliament’s desire to benefit from Morocco’s expertise, especially in the fields of migration and human rights.
On this occasion, Acevedo announced that PARLACEN will sign a cooperation agreement with the support of Morocco, aimed at promoting the management of migration in the Central American and Dominican Republic regions.
As part of its visit to Morocco, the parliamentary delegation also held a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami.
During this meeting, Acevedo and members of PARLACEN’s executive board praised Morocco’s leadership in the management of migration, further expressing their desire to benefit from Morocco’s expertise in this field.
In a similar context, the PARLACEN delegation praised the development dynamics that Morocco is witnessing in several areas, namely clean energy, the promotion of the status of women, and democratic practice in general.
Acevedo and his accompanying delegation emphasized the importance that PARLACEN attributes to the strengthening of cooperation ties and the permanent coordination with the Moroccan Parliament on several topics and issues of common interest.
