FM Nasser Bourita Highlights the Depth of Morocco-Serbia Relations
Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, highlighted the depth of Morocco-Serbia relations on the occasion of commemorating the 65th anniversary of relations between the two countries.
In a column published by the Serbian magazine CorD, which dedicated a special edition for the celebration of this jubilee, Bourita noted, “It is high time to set new milestones and elevate our cooperation to an unprecedented level amid the unprecedented challenges of recent times.”
In a similar context, Bourita stressed the need to take advantage of the unique opportunities available to both countries in an environment marked by “unprecedented transformations, complex challenges and multidimensional risks”.
“The two nations, equally strong in the face of adversity, have gone through key moments hand-in-hand, such as the 1st Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade in 1961, and two peoples united in the defense of their respective national sovereignty and territorial integrity”, stated Bourita, adding that Morocco and Serbia share a set of common core values despite the geographical distance.
On a final note, the Moroccan Minister affirmed that Morocco and Serbia have succeeded in deepening relations in many aspects, noting that “His Majesty King Mohammed VI has personally cited Serbia amongst the inner circle of the Kingdom’s friends”, considering it “the most significant signal of the excellence of those relations”.
