Morocco will be at Expo Dubai 2020, which will take place over 6 months from October 1st to March 31st, 2022, to share its strategic vision of a more sustainable global future.
‘’ With 192 countries represented, being all united to think of tomorrow’s world, this is a new chapter in history that will be kept in the memory of Expo 2020 Dubai ,which is the first held in a country of the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region‘’, the organizers of the event stated.
Accordingly, the Morocco Pavilion, which is located in the heart of the Opportunity District, near the United Arab Emirates and not far from ‘’Al Wasl Plaza’’, central monument of the Expo 2020 Dubai site, will offer, in addition to a permanent Exhibition, a varied artistic, cultural, economic and scientific programming featured with extreme inspiration.
Under the theme “Legacies for the future, from inspiring origins to sustainable progress”, Morocco’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai is designed to invite visitors to rediscover the Kingdom, its history, identity, talents, as well its tangible achievements in various fields.
Through three main themes, the Morocco Pavilion will show the world the kingdom’s commitment for the future of the planet, with diversity in the country’s talents from near and far, as well as the momentum of progress to which Morocco belongs.
With the objective of giving the visitor a chance to get into the realm of such an outstanding experience, the permanent exhibition of Morocco in its pavilion is thought of as a promenade, with doors opening onto 13 rooms. Each of them constitutes an original space, playing on the effect of surprise produced by the elements presented. That is, visitors will discover Morocco and its high continuity, a way to connect its past, present, and the future.
For youth, the Pavilion of Morocco offers an innovative augmented reality gaming experience that invites them to search for clues and solve new puzzles.
“Composed of twenty-two superimposed rectangular volumes, which visually recall the clay villages of Morocco, the Pavilion includes fourteen exhibition spaces, a traditional Moroccan restaurant, a tea room, a modern street food space, a shop, an event space, an office space, and a living room,” stated by the architecture firm founded by the Moroccan architect ‘’Tarik Oualalou’’ and his wife ’’Linna Choï’’.
