The Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (ESEC) and its Palestinian counterpart signed, Friday in Rabat, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting joint initiatives.
According to a statement from the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC), this memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during a meeting between the President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC), Ahmed Reda Chami, and a large Palestinian delegation led by the President of the Economic and Social Council of the State of Palestine (PESC), Ahmed Majdalani, who was accompanied by the Palestinian ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Choubki.
This memorandum aims to exchange expertise between the Moroccan and Palestinian councils and to boost bilateral and multilateral cooperation, especially through the Economic and Social Councils of the Arab League and similar institutions.
This meeting was an opportunity to discuss economic and social development in both countries, in light of the current context, and the role that the two Moroccan and Palestinian councils can play through their cooperation in order to identify adequate approaches to address the issues imposed by this context, including those of climate, in addition to the sustainability and resilience of the economies, and the challenges of water, food and energy security.
This meeting was also an opportunity to exchange expertise and working methodologies between the two parties to enrich and help public policies and development choices while involving institutional, economic, social, and civil society stakeholders, as well as mobilizing citizen consultations.
The meeting was attended by the General Secretary of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC), Younes Benakki, as well as other members of the council, including Khalil Bensami, Abdallah Moutaki, and Abderrahim Ksiri.
