Director General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi, led a large security delegation on a working visit to Portugal between June 21 and 22, during which he held talks with Portuguese officials on ways to strengthen cooperation in the security field, particularly in countering terrorism and cross-border organized crime.
According to a press release from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Mr. Hammouchi held talks with the Ambassador, Secretary General of the Intelligence System of the Portuguese Republic (SIRP), Mira Graça Gomes, the Director General of National Intelligence (SIS), Adélio Neiva da Cruz, and the Director General of the Defence Strategic Information Service (SIED), Carlos López Pérez.
The statement also reported that Mr. Hammouchi and the Portuguese officials discussed the regional and international security situation, the dangers and challenges threatening both shores of the Mediterranean, and ways of strengthening bilateral security cooperation.
This visit reflects the commitment of the two parties to strengthening security cooperation and consolidating intelligence coordination in the fight against threats to the security of both Morocco and Portugal.
