The First Lady of Cote d’Ivoire and President of the Children of Africa Foundation, Dominique Ouattara, expressed her sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for His humanist vision and His solidarity with the children of Africa.
During the launch in Abidjan of the second phase of the “United, We Hear Each Other Better” operation, Her Excellency Ouattara requested HRH Princess Lalla Asmae, President of Lalla Asmae Foundation, to convey her “sincere gratitude to His Majesty the King for His vision and solidarity with the children of Africa”.
The President of the Children of Africa Foundation, who co-chaired with Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmae the launch ceremony, also expressed her gratitude to His Majesty the King for “His important contribution to the construction of this hospital, which provides enormous services to the population”.
H.E. Ouattara recalled that over 20 cochlear implants had been donated by Lalla Asmae Foundation, to benefit children from Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Niger, Mali, and Togo, adding that this new collaboration between the two Foundations “testifies to our shared commitment to improving the health of our children”.
The Ivorian First Lady stated that in addition to these implants, Lalla Asmae Foundation had donated an ENT surgical microscope and a micromotor to the Mother and Child hospital in Bingerville, pointing out that this cutting-edge equipment had enabled the team of Moroccan and Ivorian doctors to carry out the meticulous surgical procedures begun on October 2.
Ouattara pointed out that the young patients who received the implants are cared for free of charge by the Children of Africa Foundation throughout their hospital stay.
The Ivorian First Lady stressed that Lalla Asmae Foundation is also committed to sharing knowledge and expertise, by exchanging innovative surgical techniques between Moroccan and Ivorian health professionals, thus strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
In a different context, the First Lady of Cote d’Ivoire expressed her deepest condolences to the Kingdom, following the earthquake that struck several regions of the Kingdom on September 8.
