Parliamentary State Secretary to the German Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Claudia Müller, stated on December 10, in Dubai, that Morocco is a “very important partner” for Germany in the field of agriculture.
Following her talks with the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, on the sidelines of COP28, the German official noted that “Morocco is an essential partner for Germany in the agricultural field, but also in international cooperation, particularly on the African continent.”
In a statement to Maghreb Arab Presse (MAP), Müller indicated that her meeting with Minister Sadiki was an opportunity to exchange ideas about cooperation between the two ministries, welcoming the “convergence of views” with regards to strengthening bilateral partnership.
For his part, Minister Sadiki indicated that, during this meeting, the two parties examined the implementation of projects within the framework of cooperation uniting Morocco and Germany, in partnership with the two ministries, and professionals of the two countries.
“We also discussed South-South cooperation, in favor of a Morocco-Germany partnership in Africa with projects of research, innovation, education, and good practices,” added Sadiki.
The Moroccan minister also shed light on the long-standing cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural field, within the framework of structured projects and programs that have enabled the Moroccan agricultural sector to benefit from recognized German expertise in terms of technology, mechanization, irrigation, and water saving, adding that the meeting was also an opportunity to examine ways to initiate new ambitious projects in line with the vision of the “Generation Green” strategy launched by His Majesty King Mohammed Vl.
