Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee at Hungary’s National Assembly, Zsolt Németh, praised on June 6 in Rabat the Autonomy Plan presented by Morocco in 2007 to reach a definitive solution to the conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.
In a statement to the press following his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Németh highlighted “the Autonomy Plan presented by Morocco, which will contribute to the stability of the Mediterranean and the resolution of the conflict in the Moroccan Sahara.”
In this regard, Németh welcomed the US position in favor of the Moroccanity of the Sahara.
As for cooperation between Morocco and Hungary, the Hungarian parliamentarian stressed that the fraternal ties uniting the two countries are strengthened through two channels, namely the foreign ministries and the parliaments, commending the “fruitful” parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation linking Moroccan and Hungarian legislative institutions.
Németh also added that as part of Morocco-Hungary cooperation, his country has increased the number of scholarships awarded to Moroccan students to 165 per year.
The Hungarian Chairperson commended the fruitful academic cooperation between Morocco and Hungary, expressing his willingness to further strengthen economic, social, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee at Hungary’s National Assembly, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, is scheduled to hold meetings at the two houses of the Moroccan parliament.
