Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, highly commended, on April 18 in Rabat, the partnership established between her country and Morocco.
Speaking at a joint press briefing following her talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Nyanti stated that “Liberia is extremely proud of the relationship and partnership we have established over the years”.
In this regard, the Liberian official shed light on the various initiatives launched by Morocco to support the process of sustainable development and the promotion of peace and security in Liberia, stressing that the Kingdom has accompanied her country since the 1960s, during “prosperous” periods and other “very difficult” ones.
In a similar context, Nyanti revealed that the aim of her visit to the Kingdom is to further consolidate relations between Morocco and Liberia, and to work together for the implementation of the African Union Agenda, noting that the two countries are driven by a desire to build a safer and more prosperous Africa.
It should be recalled that during the same meeting, the Liberian official expressed her country’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara, reiterating Liberia’s support for the autonomy initiative, presented by the Kingdom in 2007, which constitutes the only credible and realistic solution for the resolution of the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
