The Moroccan women’s under-21 beach volleyball selection was crowned champion of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) 2023 U21 Beach Volleyball Nations Cup, beating their Nigerian counterparts in the final on August 30 in Casablanca.
The Moroccan A selection, which included sisters Aida and Carmen Mzouak, won two sets to one (13-21, 21-15 and 18-16).
Nigeria won silver, while Gambia, who finished third, took home bronze.
The Moroccan B selection, comprising Imane Fakhr and Fatima Zahra Bouissfi, finished fourth after losing to Gambia.
It should be recalled that following their quarter-final victory over Egypt, the Moroccan women’s U21 selection (A and B) snatched their ticket to the Volleyball Women’s U21 World Championship set to take place in Thailand.
