For the start of the 2021-2022 school year, three teaching methods will be adopted by public and private educational establishments in Morocco. These are the face-to-face teaching mode, work-study, between face-to-face and self-study, and the distance teaching mode. In any case, the strict application of individual and collective preventive measures is still required, said a statement from the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The ministry’s document specifies that this decision was taken because of the evolution of the epidemiological situation and the discrepancies observed between the various regions and provinces of the country, and with regard to the conclusions of the study of the various possible organizational patterns. of schooling in such a context. The start of the school year will take into account the anti-Covid vaccination operation for the 12-17-year-old age group, in addition to the provisions to be set by the competent authorities to ensure education in optimal safety conditions for all students, educational and administrative frameworks. And the ministry reassures families that, just like last school year, their wishes will be taken into consideration.
Thus, in public and private educational establishments, as well as foreign mission schools, the ministry indicates that the face-to-face teaching mode will be deployed, provided that the material conditions of physical distancing are met, as is the case. case for establishments located in rural areas, and not to exceed 20 pupils per class. Face-to-face education is also authorized in schools where all students are vaccinated, while the work-study method, between face-to-face and self-study, will be adopted in the rest of the schools. As for distance education, it will be adopted in response to the wishes of families or in the event of an epidemiological outbreak in a school establishment, the statement said.
Clearly, these different teaching methods will be applied according to the individual situation of each establishment, namely that the territorial, educational, health and local authorities have the competence to impose one of the solutions. Whatever the model deployed, the ministry is keen on “the strict application of individual and collective preventive measures adopted in the health protocol in force in all education and training establishments and which will be updated if necessary,” in the light of the recommendations of the health authorities ”.
As a reminder, the start of the 2021-2022 school year is set for September 1st for executives and officials of the educational administration, the body of inspectors, the executives responsible for the management of material and financial services, the body of guidance and educational planning, that of educational and administrative management, common administrative frameworks. The teaching staff will follow on September 2. Classes actually start on September 10, the statement concludes.
