Ministers participating in the Arab-Japanese Ministerial Dialogue in Cairo, which concluded its third session on September 5, praised His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s role as Chairman of Al Quds Committee.
The joint declaration, which was issued following the works of this ministerial meeting, stressed the need to achieve a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region, which will subsequently resolve all permanent status issues, including the Palestinian refugee situation, per the relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions, international legality principles, the principle of “land for peace,” the Arab Peace Initiative (API), and the two-state solution.
Morocco was represented at this meeting by a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
The third session, which was attended by Japanese Foreign Minister, Hayashi Yoshimasa, his Arab counterparts, and the Arab League’s (AL) Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, was held in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed between the Arab League (AL) and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in September 2013 to set up a mechanism for cooperation and political consultation between the two parties at the foreign ministers level.
