The Arab Ministerial Committee in charge of international action to confront Illegal Israeli policies and measures in the occupied city of Al-Quds commended the constant efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in defending the Holy City.
On the sidelines of the Arab League Council meeting at the level of foreign ministers, the Arab Ministerial Committee praised, Wednesday in Cairo in a statement concluding its work, the actions undertaken by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, under the supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to ensure the stability of the marquesses in their land and support of their resistance.
In a similar context, the Arab ministers urged the strengthening of joint Arab action to confront Israeli measures aimed at changing the historical and legal status quo of Al-Quds, and the investment of efforts to protect its Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity and to stop unilateral measures undermining the two-state solution and other provocative actions leading to tension and the eruption of violence.
They also stressed the need to support the people of Al-Quds city and to protect them from the constant danger posed by the settlements’ building and expansion policy, the destruction of homes, the confiscation of land, and the expulsion of Palestinians from their homes, further urging a joint action to confront illegal Israeli policies, which are a serious violation of international law and incompatible with the right of Palestinians to live in freedom and security in an independent, sovereign and geographically viable state.
In the same context, the Ministers reaffirmed that East Al-Quds is the capital of the Palestinian State, rejecting all attempts to derogate from the right to Palestinian sovereignty over it, in addition to any unilateral measure affecting the legal status of the Holy City and the need to adhere to the principle of a fair and comprehensive peace provided that the occupation ends, and the establishment of the independent and sovereign Palestinian state, with Al-Quds as its capital, according to the line June 4, 1967, and based on the two-state solution, in conformity with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
This Ministerial Committee includes the Foreign Minister of Jordan, as the chairman, and representatives from member countries including Morocco, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Qatar, Egypt, Tunisia, and of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as an Arab member of the Security Council, as well as the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
