The Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC), Mohammad bin Ali Kuman, praised, on September 7 in Marrakech, the development and progress underway in Morocco under the Wise Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Intervening at the opening of the 19th Arab Conference of Heads of Civil Protection Organizations, Kuman commended the Kingdom’s secure and prosperous climate, as well as its ongoing progress under the Wise Leadership and Far-sighted Vision of His Majesty the King.
Kuman praised the Sovereign’s unwavering support for joint Arab action in the service of just Arab and Islamic causes, expressing his gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for His High Solicitude of the proceedings of the 19th Arab Conference of Heads of Civil Protection Organizations, which is an important milestone in the roadmap of Arab cooperation in civil defense.
The Secretary-General also explained that the challenges that civil protection organizations face are likely to increase due to climate change and the challenges arising in Arab countries, notably migration and refugee flows.
Emphasizing the great importance that civil protection organizations enjoy in several Arab countries, Kuman stressed the need to further strengthen Arab cooperation in this field in order to effectively meet these challenges.
Kuman also shed light on the major role that civil protection organizations in Arab countries played during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, which clearly emphasized the importance of these organizations, underlining the need to attach greater attention to these organizations and provide them with the necessary human resources and logistical means to enable them to carry out their vital mission in facing disasters and managing several crises.
Organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 19th Arab Conference of Heads of Civil Protection Organizations was attended by presidents and representatives of civil protection organizations in Arab countries, the Arab League (AL), Nayef University of Security Sciences (NAUSS), and the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
Participants discussed different topics, including ways to face the new dangers of environmental pollution, new developments, and changes in the missions of Arab civil protection organizations, the establishment of an electronic portal for Arab civil protection organizations, and a coordination center for operational cooperation between civil protection organizations in Arab countries, as part of the fight against major accidents and disasters.
