The Moroccan men’s beach handball selection qualified, on June 25, for the finals of the handball tournament, held as part of the Second All-Africa Beach Games between June 23 and 30 at the seaside resort of Yasmine Hammamet (70 km from Tunis), Tunisia.
The Moroccan selection booked its ticket to the finals after defeating Algeria in a penalty shoot-out (7-4) following a one-all draw at the end of the 60 minutes of regulation time.
Morocco will face on June 26 the host country, Tunisia, who qualified for the finals at the expense of Libya with 2 to nil (22-14, 18-16).
Following a first edition organized on Sal Island in Cape Verde between June 14 and 23, 2019, the second edition of the African Beach Games features around 1.100 athletes competing in several sporting disciplines and representing about 50 African Olympic Committees.
Moroccan athletes are taking part in nine disciplines, notably beach rowing, beach handball, beach volleyball, beach soccer, beach tennis, 3×3 basketball, karate kata, kungfu wushu, and open water swimming.
