The Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit kicked off on May 9 in Nairobi with the participation of Morocco.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, is representing His Majesty King Mohammed VI at this Summit which will examine issues relating to fertilizers and soil health in Africa.
The Moroccan delegation also includes the Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), Mohamed Methqal, Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi, and the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Kenya, Abderrazzak Laassel.
Organized by the African Union (AU) and the Kenyan government, the Summit brings together all relevant stakeholders to highlight the crucial role of fertilizer and soil health in stimulating sustainable pro-poor productivity growth in African agriculture.
The event is expected to result in the adoption of a ten-year action plan that would provide concrete recommendations on measures to be taken over the next ten years to meet the aspirations of African citizens.
