The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, held talks on May 6 in Rabat with his Czech counterpart, Vlastimil Válek, on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of health.
In a statement to the press following this meeting, Ait Taleb revealed that discussions also focused on the main axes of the bilateral partnership between the two countries in the field of health, noting that Morocco and the Czech Republic maintain a historical link of more than 58 years, crowned by the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Prague in March 2016.
This partnership aims to “address the challenges faced by countries in the context of globalization and technological development which has generated a qualitative leap in the health sector, particularly during the post-Covid period,” explained Ait Taleb, calling for collaboration in the training of highly qualified human resources, particularly in certain specialties “threatened by artificial intelligence”, and in areas linked to biomedical tools and digital health.
For his part, the Czech Minister of Health stated that his meeting with Minister Ait Taleb aims to lay the foundations for constructive cooperation between the two countries in the areas of health and social protection, with the aim of providing citizens with better access to medical treatment.
This meeting also resulted in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Morocco and the Czech Republic relating to cooperation in the field of health and social protection, reflecting the two countries’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in the field of public health, by establishing a framework for technical cooperation in areas of common interest.
