A combat unit of the Royal Navy rescued, on April 29, 280 km southwest of Dakhla, a canoe in distress with 81 individuals from sub-Saharan Africa on board seeking irregular migration.
According to a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the rescued individuals received first aid on board before being brought back safely to the Port of Dakhla and entrusted to the Royal Gendarmerie for the standard administrative procedures
