The 16th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM) welcomed more than a million visitors, stated the Acting Commissioner of SIAM, Kamal Hidane, on April 28 in Meknes.
In a statement to the press, Hidane noted the exhibition “has attracted more than a million visitors […] thus confirming its role as an essential platform for agriculture on an international and continental scale”.
In the same context, the commissioner emphasized that this edition, organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, reflects the excellence and dynamics of the Moroccan agricultural sector.
Held under the theme “Climate and Agriculture: For Sustainable and Resilient Production Systems”, the 16th edition of SIAM witnessed the participation of 1,500 exhibitors from 70 countries, 45 foreign delegations, including 22 ministers, as well as international organizations such as the African Union (AU), the European Union ‘EU) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), revealed Hidane.
Stretching over an area of 12.4 hectares (Ha), SIAM featured more than 500 cooperatives and more than 200 breeders, which testifies to the richness and diversity of the agricultural offer presented, he added.
Speaking about knowledge and innovation, Hidane indicated that SIAM included over forty conferences with enriching discussions on major subjects such as climate change, agricultural digitalization, and the importance of agricultural research for sustainability.
