According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the average salary in the civil service in Morocco has increased by 15.71% over the last decade.
The Human Resources report schedule attached to the Budget Bill for the 2022 financial year indicated that “this salary increased from 7150 DH to 8237 DH, an average annual increase of 2.15%, despite the health and economic crisis”.
“This is due in particular to the revaluation of the salaries of state personnel decided as part of the second tranche of increases provided for in the Agreement of the social dialogue concluded on April 25th, 2019 between the government and the economic and social partners”, the same source noted.
The report also underlined an increase in the average net salary in the Department of Justice, which amounted to12,145 DH compared with 9,482 DH, 9,279 DH, 8,330 DH and 6,487 DH in the ministries of National Education and Higher Education, Health, Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform, and the Interior, respectively.
In addition, the minimum wage in the public sector has also seen a gradual increase during the same period, from 2,800 DH in 2011 to 3,000 in 2014 to reach 3,362 DH in 2021.
