Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has accumulated significant experience in the field of agriculture, noted on April 18 in Rabat, the Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Mr. Qu Dongyu.
In a statement to the press following his meeting with the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, Dongyu hailed the Kingdom’s expertise in different vital sectors, including agriculture, maritime fishing, and forestry.
In this regard, the United Nations (UN) official commended the projects implemented by Morocco, praising the government’s constant efforts, particularly in terms of strengthening agricultural and food systems at the national and African levels.
He also revealed that this meeting was an opportunity to examine new prospects for cooperation between FAO and Morocco in the field of agriculture, expressing the willingness of this United Nations (UN) organization to consolidate relations with the Kingdom in different areas of common interest.
Dongyu is on a working visit to the Kingdom, as part of the 33rd Session of the Regional Conference for Africa (ARC33) which brings together 54 delegations led by African Ministers of Agriculture, with the aim of achieving transformative and sustainable change in agri-food systems across the continent.
